I grew up knowing that I wanted to be in a medical field, but wasn’t 100% sure it was the animal medical field until I completed a co-op in high school at a veterinary clinic. It was then that I knew my heart was in animal medicine.
I went to St. Lawrence College and graduated in 2003. I have been working in a veterinary clinic ever since. I joined the Barriefield team in September of 2013.
The two areas that really interest me in animal medicine are pet nutrition and emergency medicine. To fulfill one of my interests, I work part-time at the local after-hours pet hospital. What I love most about my job is that each day at Barriefield Animal hospital is different than the previous one. I tend to learn something new every day which keeps on my toes.
When I was as a kid, my first best friend was a black Labrador known as Katie. My parents had gotten her before I was born, and she and I shared a special bond. When I’m not at work, you can find me spending time at a dirt car race track or another type of sporting event.
